If you've ever wanted to run a trivia quiz at a party or thought about using one for a fundraiser then there's a new site called Instant Trivia.
http://www.instanttrivia.com
http://www.instanttrivia.com.au
They actually make weekly quizzes for pubs, clubs and bars so the quizzes are written new every week and the first link will take you to a huge subscription special offer. If you're just looking for singles though, the second link allows you to get the products one by one.
The weekly quizzes are Australian but the fundraiser quizzes are suitable for all. The site says there'll be a larger range soon but as yet there's only a few. They have some interesting fun quizzes. I picked up a famous faces quiz for a party and it kept us going all night, thinking maybe its so and so , you know , the actress in such and such. The winning team got a bottle of champagne! Lots of fun. Going to get a puzzle sheet as well next time!
They reckon there'll be a movie quiz soon. Looking forward to that one. Well it keeps us having fun.
Oh yeah, Complete Trivia have a new newsletter as well. It's free and it has crosswords and sudoku and odd snippets of trivia. You can send a blank email to supertriviaguy@hotmail.com if you want one every month.Just put trivia newsletter in the subject box. Volume 2 is already out.
Have fun!

Last week for this months trivia treasure hunt.
Only another week to go on this months trivia treasure hunt and I still have 100 questions to answer but its been fun. I'm totally stuck on a girls face who looks a little like Drew Barrymore but she has flowers painted on her face and I can't figure out who she is!
Did you watch the FA cup final? Of course it was Chelsea versus Manchester United and just a little addon of trivia treasure - Chelsea won! 1-0 in extra time. Had they been playing Quidditch, the game played in the Harry Potter movies, the crowds would be watching from the Tower of London and policed by beefeaters. Assuming of course that the final was held in London!
Back to the online trivia game, people have asked me who might like to play the trivia treasure hunt.Who might enjoy the trivia treasure hunt?
Everyone! From the youngest child to the seniors in the family, there are questions (and memories) from all eras and hobbies and all fields of knowledge. It is ideal for family entertainment because everyone has knowledge they can contribute. Your teen will often know the show that the TV theme music came from; they’ll know the younger actresses and the current bands. Your young child will get the Simpson clues, the Disney cartoon characters, maybe a yoyo clue. Your father, or grandfather will know the names of aircraft used in the war and the name of that Big Band’s leader, and you yourself will know questions from the era you lived through.
So you see the only people who won't like to play are people who don't like sitting at a computer and even then, you'll find them standing over your shoulder, helping you out. Why not take the test drive and see for yourself what the trivia treasure hunt is all about.

Trivia Treasure Hunt answers and continues...

Don't want to play yet? That's ok, Genie takes a while getting warmed up to new friends too! I'll give you some easier ones.
For those of you who find this down the track, the answers to the three former questions are
- Baywatch
- The Malls Balls (as shown above)
- Goldfinger
OK, something a little easier, you won't have to surf off on a trivia treasure hunt to find the answers to these ones.
- What is the name of the team game played at Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter books and movies?
- Which two teams will play in the 2007 FA Cup Final?
- Which London Building has colourful guards called 'Beefeaters?'
IQ tests
I discovered a new site today that does IQ tests. It was fun puzzling out the answers on the page but it had some flashing ads on the page and it gave me a headache.
It told me I'd won a laptop but when I clicked on it, it said I had to tell all my friends to sign up for a new credit card - what do I need more debt for! If I could pay back the one's I have, I wouldn't have to sleep in a bottle!
And then when I went to get the results of my test, expecting a perfect score of course, suddenly my computer didn't want to work anymore and I never got to see all my stars. It was fun though, doing the puzzles and there is more to see there so I think I'll go back.
If you want to take a look go to free IQ and see how you do. Me I think I'll take a look at mindbenders on my favourite online trivia quiz, complete trivia. More headaches!

3Q from Complete Trivia
I thought I'd give you a taste of the trivia treasure hunt so put on the funny hat and go surfing. These questions are from the archives of the online trivia quiz Complete Trivia where every answer is a treasure!
1. In which movie did James Bond first drive an Aston Martin with an ejector seat?
2. Which TV Show was internationally renowned for its red swimming costumes?
3. What rhyming term is used to describe the Rundle Street Sculpture recently dismantled for cleaning?
What city is Rundle Street in? The city which has a Rundell Street on which there is a sculpture that was recently cleaned of course!
Good luck - and if you find the answers leave me a comment, I will be getting some discount vouchers for this subscription quiz next month and I'd love to give one to you.
For the record-
Of course these are not questions from the current month's subscriptions and I have Complete Trivia's permission to use them in this way.

Online trivia game - a trivia treasure hunt.
Have you tried any online trivia games? They can be a lot of fun and if you like learning new facts, having trivia tidbits to add to conversations and competing in fun quizzes they can while away many minutes in a lazy afternoon.
Did you know for example that fried spiders are said to have a taste similar to nuts? Or that Roy Rogers real name is Leonard Franklin Slye. Of what use is this - unless of course someone is offering you fried spider on a plate and you're unsure whether to eat it! Yet it is interesting and next time you are offered nuts you will think of it and perhaps say "Did you know..."
The internet has made it possible to find dozens of odd facts simply by throwing a keyword in the box and seeing what comes out. You'd think that everything there is to know is there on the web just a keyword search away - well you might think that, but it isn't true.
The reason I know is I have been playing Complete Interactive Trivia at complete trivia and this online trivia game continues to pose me questions that I cannot find and its got me hooked like a treasure hunt. Now a question like "What was Adolph Hitler's favourite movie?" isn't so bad, I found a possible answer on the sixth result on the page.
Conan Doyle's ships was another matter all together, the question said that he had sailed on two ships, what were their names. I think I got the first name on page twenty and the the second around page forty and I think I changed the keyword search terms several times before I even started to read through the articles looking for the names.
They were there though, so that's good. There have been questions where the only way to find the answer is to get on the phone - to a library, a company, the zoo - wherever the answer might be found because the only way to get past the question is to answer it or pass on it.
Now I don't like to pass, I know I havn't got a cat in hells chance of finishing the quiz first, and winning the money, but I like to feel I've done everything possible to finish with a no pass score. I want to be on the scoreboard and I like to be in the top 20 who finish and if I pass neither of those things are possible. Sometimes its the only thing to do but I don't have to like it.
This online trivia quiz really is like a trivia treasure hunt - quite unlike anything I've seen on any other site, most of which are multichoice and timed.
I admit I was a little wary at first because you have to subscribe and I didn't want to throw my money away, but I tried the sample quiz (its a bit confusing on the page - but you click on the click me link under visitors) and well it seemed a bit too general knowledge but then I threw caution to the winds and broke my no creditcards online rule because I saw they had a secure page and signed up.
I've been playing near every month now for over a year and I'm not going to stop because I'm hooked. Even though I don't really care what the ship's names that Conan Doyle sailed on were and couldn't bring them back to mind right now - (I can't remember - after all that searching, I can't remember!) it is the activity itself which pleases. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.
